8mm/Super 8 Movie Film
Pictured, are 50 foot rolls of processed 8mm movie film, popular from the 1950s until the 1980s.
Since the running time of these rolls was only about 3 minutes, many movie enthusiasts often made compilations onto 200 and 400 foot reels.

16mm Sound/Silent Movie Film
This professional/industrial format was in wide use since the early days of film. Older prints may be in black & white and silent.
The format was popular for educational and training films, news reels and re-releases of feature films before the advent of video cassettes.

35mm Movie Film
This is the movie film used in theatres since the early days of cinema. Many variations have been developed over the years. The film is the same size as that used in 35mm still cameras and typically runs at 16 frames/foot.

35mm Slides
Processed positive film, shot on 35mm still cameras, cut and mounted in 2" square slide mounts. Typically displayed on a slide projector.
